Q: What browsers does Bimbit support?
A: Supported browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. Netscape is supported from version 8 onwards but the rendering engine must be set to "Display Page Like Internet Explorer" under "View" => "Rendering Engine"
Q: WHY MP3 ?
A: MP3 is the most popular and universal format for digital music. It is the format that people most want, that is the easiest to play freely without any restrictions.
Q: HOW WERE THESE TRACKS ENCODED, AND AT WHAT QUALITY?
A: All Bimbit files are encoded using LAME's --alt-preset standard setting. This uses Variable Bit Rate encoding, meaning that the bit rate for any given track will vary throughout the duration of the recording. During silence it will be as low as 32kbps (all the data required to describe silence) and when the music is extremely complex it will be as high as 320kbps (ensuring no detail is missed). By encoding using LAME's --alt-preset standard setting we guarantee that at any given point the music is encoded at a rate which will ensure it is reproduced accurately (whilst keeping the file sizes under control).

*NB!* An important issue with VBR is that MP3 players can often be misleading in the way they display the bitrate - most commonly giving an average for the whole track.
Q: I AM IN ALASKA /THE NORTH POLE, DOES THAT MATTER?
A: As long as you have an internet connection and a fairly modern browser (Internet Explorer 6, Safari 1.0, Firebird 0.7) you can access and use Bimbit.com anywhere in the world, whether using an Apple Mac or a Windows based PC. Lots of bandwidth and a fast connection obviously help too!
Q: CAN I LISTEN BEFORE I BUY?
A: Of course. Click "Play" next to any track to load the activeX player. You can quickly listen to the track, in 30 second segments. When the player stops after 30 seconds, just click the "Play" icon again or anywhere on the activeX player.
Q: AM I LISTENING TO THE FINAL MP3?
A: No. The Bimbit player plays a low-quality (and thus quick-loading) 90kbps version of the final mp3. The sound quality of the final downloaded version is far better and to most people indistinguishable from a CD.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF THE SITE IS VERY BUSY, DOES IT SLOW DOWN THE DOWNLOADING PROCESS?
A: At busy times downloads may take longer, but we now have plenty of bandwidth in place, and will scale this up according to any increases in demand
Q: I DOWNLOADED THE MP3 AND MY MAC THINKS IT'S AN EXCEL / 'BINA' FILE
A: This is a fairly common bug for Apple Mac users, that is due to long file names. When the MP3 is downloaded, it shortens the filename and loses the .mp3 extension. This leaves your computer unable to know how to handle the file, so it often makes a guess (hence thinking it's an Excel). Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I DOWNLOAD A FILE WITH AN ERROR OR GLITCH IN THE SOUND?
A: Please let us know immediately - if there is any problem with a file then we need to replace it as soon as possible. Please email support@Bimbit.com with a description of the problem ?giving the exact time in the track that the error occurs - and we will get you the correct file to you straight away.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF A DOWNLOAD FAILS MIDWAY THROUGH?
A: Once you have bought a track, it remains in your 'Downloads' manager until successfully downloaded from Bimbit. You are allowed three downloads per track. Any further problems please email support@Bimbit.com
Q: WHERE IS MY DOWNLOAD ?!? I CAN'T FIND THE FILE!
A: Sometimes browsers (such as Safari) automatically unzip your download.
Look for a folder called Bimbit.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I ACCIDENTALLY DELETE TRACKS FROM MY HARD DRIVE?
A: Once you have successfully downloaded a track from Bimbit, the transaction is completed and the file becomes your responsibility. Make sure you backup your purchases! We place no restrictions on the number of copies you make.

A: You can currently pay via prepaid card, prepaid card can be purchase from authorized reseller shops. Each single prepaid cards amount has 350 Bimbit money/credits for nine songs. Each song is priced around USD0.81c which is equivalent to 38 Bimbit money/credit (38 pts). Bimbit will offer lower prices songs when available in the site.
You can reload the prepaid amount by buying more prepaid cards.
